The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fábrica de Tintas 2000, S.A., Mr. António Ambrósio, belongs to a generation that viewed the arrival of the year 2000 with some uncertainty and hesitation. Some said the world would end, while others simply did not know what to think. Mr. António Ambrósio, like few others, saw the year 2000 as an inspiration and a reference to the future and innovation; thus the name Tintas 2000 was born, under the motto 'The paint of the future that paints in the present'.
Fábrica de Tintas 2000, S.A. was founded in 1980 in the Maia Industrial Zone, where the company still has its headquarters and where it produces, markets and distributes a range of products aimed at Civil Construction, the Furniture Industry and the Metalworking Industry, having consistently delivered positive results and sustained business growth.
TINTAS 2000 GROUP
In 1994, the associated company Ambrósio & Filha was founded, mainly focused on product sales and technical support for the furniture industry. It is a company with products and technicians strongly specialized in wood finishing.
With the goal of growing further and increasing market share, in 2006 Fábrica de Tintas 2000, S.A. acquired 100% of the share capital of Tintas Marilina, S.A., the company where Mr. António Ambrósio began his professional activity in paints and varnishes. This is how the Tintas 2000 Group was born.
During 2017, Tintas 2000 acquired the company Norticor, representative in Portugal since 1991 of the Italian multinational Sirca, producer of resins and finishing products for wood and furniture.
The path has always been one of sustained growth, and in the last 10 years turnover has increased by more than 85%. Today, the Tintas 2000 Group is represented throughout the country with 33 own stores and numerous resellers. Fábrica de Tintas 2000, S.A. ranks 5th among the largest paint and varnish manufacturers in Portugal, in an estimated universe of 180 producers in the sector.

The SME Leader status highlights SMEs with above-average performance and publicly recognizes the success of Fábrica de Tintas 2000, S.A.'s business strategy and the importance of its contribution to the national economy.
